
In 1972, Joan Reed Carter and a friend were walking along a beach in Fort Lauderdale when they looked down and saw a
seashell that looked like Jesus Christ. Her friend didn't want to take it home because her husband was an atheist, so Joan kept it. Over the years she kept thinking she should make the shell public.
